After graduating from the Department of Astronomy, Nanjing University in 1960, Qiu-he Peng teached at Peking University for 18 years and then is teaching at Nanjing University. Q. Peng is mainly engaged in nuclear astrophysics, particle astrophysics, and galactic astronomy research. In the field of nuclear astrophysics, Peng’s researches involve neutron stars (pulsars), the supernova explosion mechanism and the thermonuclear reaction inside the star, the synthesis of heavy elements, and interstellar radioactive element such as the origin of celestial 26Al. 226 papers of him have been published. In recent 10 years, his works are mainly on astrophysics with both particle physics and condensed matter physics.

Mohammed Ali Hassan Mohammed El-Lakany has done his B.Sc. Special Physics from Tanta University in 2004 and Diploma in Radiation Physics from Ain Shams University in 2006. He also completed his Preliminary M.Sc. in Theoretical Physics from Cairo University in 2009. He also published his research work in many journals and conferences. He is awarded a Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing in various journals.

Prof. M. De Cesare, Ph.D., is Senior Researcher in Applied Physics at CIRA (Italian Aerospace Research Centre) and Professor in Aerospace Physics Methodologies at University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. He is also PM&SEM in Novel Physics Methodologies for Aerospace Applications and an SEM in Airborne-gamma measurements for Natural and Anthropogenic Environmental Monitoring. Aerospace / His principal applications are based on the development of novel technologies for material and plasma applications in the re-entry vehicle phases. The Diagnostic Methodologies and Measurement Techniques Division at CIRA tests innovative structures for space re-entry vehicles and sustained hypersonic flight and for aeronautical subjected to high thermal gradients. It develops and perfects advanced experimental methods and tools: thermography technique, Spectroscopy, and Laser applications. A new technique with radioactive ions (7Be), is under development for the study of the recession rate of Thermal Protection System (TPS) materials for space re-entry. The laboratory carries out its tests in two large CIRA facilities, the SCIROCCO and GHIBLI plasma wind tunnels, which simulate the extreme conditions encountered during space re-entries and hypersonic flight. This allows the laboratory to validate newly developed design methods and to study very advanced TPS material.

Professor Dapkus is the William M. Keck Professor of Engineering and the director of The Photonics Center at USC. His research group has been active in the development of photonic materials and devices for the past 19 years. Prior to coming to USC Professor Dapkus was a member of technical staff at Bell Laboratories where he worked on visible light-emitting diodes. He then worked at Rockwell International where he led the group responsible for the demonstration of the viability of MOCVD as a device epitaxy process. MOCVD is now the most widely used process for the research and manufacture of photonic materials and devices. At USC, Professor Dapkus' research has centered on the invention and demonstration of novel and high-performance photonic devices. They have made important contributions to the physics and technology of 1.55-micron lasers for fiber optic technology, ultralow threshold edge-emitting lasers, and vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers. His group has continued to develop the MOCVD process by developing an understanding of the chemical reactions and surface processes operative in growth. His current research involves the application of selective area growth to functional photonic devices, the development of resonator-based devices for WDM and signal processing, and the development of novel GaN-based lasers for biochip applications. Professor Dapkus has been awarded several honors for his work including the IEEE David Sarnoff Award in 2001 and the IEEE LEOS Engineering Achievement Award in 1995. He was also selected as an IEEE LEOS Distinguished Lecturer and awarded the USC Lockheed Senior Research Award. He is the author or co-author of over 300 publications in reviewed journals.

Vladimir V. Rumyantsev is Head of Department of Theory of Complex Systems Dynamic Properties at A.A. Galkin Donetsk Institute for Physics and Engineering (DonIPE). He is a Professor of Theoretical Physics and Nanotechnology Department at Donetsk National University (DonNU). He received Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics (1988) from DonNU and Dr. Sci. in Condensed Matter Physics (2007) from DonIPE. Prof. Rumyantsev has authored/co-authored 4 books, 2 chapters in books, and more than 280 scientific publications. He is a member of the American Physical Society as well as the Mediterranean Institute of Fundamental Physics (MIFP, Italy) and Editor-in-Chiff of the Journal of Photonic Materials and Technology (Science PG, USA).

Dr. Osman Adiguzel graduated from Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received Ph.D.- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey. He studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post-doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and his studies focused on shape memory alloys. He worked as a research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University and shifted to Firat University in 1980. He became a professor in 1996, and he has been retired due to the age limit of 67; following academic life of 45 years. He published over 60 papers in international and national journals; He joined over 120 conferences and symposia at the international and national level as Plenary Speaker, Keynote Speaker, Invited speaker, speaker, or Poster presenter. He served as the program chair or conference chair/co-chair in some of these activities. In particular, he joined in last even years (2014 - 2020) over 80 conferences as Speaker, Keynote Speaker, and Conference Co-Chair organized by different companies in different countries. Additionally, he retired at the end of November 2019 and contributed with Keynote/Plenary Speeches to 12 Virtual/Webinar Conferences in the first year of his retirement, 2020. Dr. Adiguzel served as his directorate of Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Firat University in 1999-2004. He supervised 5 Ph.D.- theses and 3 M.Sc theses. He is also a Technical committee member of many conferences. He received a certificate which is being awarded to him and his experimental group in recognition of the significant contribution of 2 patterns to the Powder Diffraction File – Release 2000. The ICDD (International Centre for Diffraction Data) also appreciates the cooperation of his group and interest in the Powder Diffraction File.

Dr. Lia Margolin has a Ph.D. in Theoretical Nuclear Physics and Computational Mathematics from Tbilisi State University, Georgia. She has published more than 25 papers in the International Peer-Reviewed Journals and Conference Proceedings. She has been awarded International Science Foundation (ISF) grant for her research accomplishments in Theoretical Nuclear Physics. She serves at the International Research Conference Scientific and Technical Committee as a member of the Editorial Review Board on Nuclear and Quantum Engineering. Dr.Margolin is a recipient of several distinguished teaching awards from different institutions. She is currently employed as an Associate Professor of Mathematics at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City, NY. She has ongoing research collaborations with the Institute of Cybernetics and the Institute of Physics in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Ephraim Suhir is on the faculty of the Portland State University, Portland, OR, USA, Technical University, Vienna, Austria, and James Cook University, Queensland, Australia. He is also CEO of a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) ERS Co. in Los Altos, CA, USA, is a Foreign Full Member (Academician) of the National Academy of Engineering, Ukraine (he was born in that country); Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Society of Optical Engineers (SPIE), and the International Microelectronics and Packaging Society (IMAPS); Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), the Institute of Physics (IoP), UK, and the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE); and Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Ephraim has authored 400+ publications (patents, technical papers, book chapters, books), presented numerous keynote and invited talks worldwide, and received many professional awards, including the 1996 Bell Laboratories Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) Award (for developing effective methods for predicting the reliability of complex structures used in AT&T and Lucent Technologies products), and 2004 ASME Worcester Reed Warner Medal (for outstanding contributions to the permanent literature of engineering and laying the foundation of a new discipline “Structural Analysis of Electronic Systems”). Ephraim is the third “Russian American”, after S. Timoshenko and I. Sikorsky, who received this prestigious award. This year he received the 2019 IEEE Electronic Packaging Society (EPS) Field award for seminal contributions to mechanical reliability engineering and modeling of electronic and photonic packages and systems and Int. Microelectronic Packaging Society’s (IMAPS) Lifetime Achievement award for making an exceptional, visible, and sustained impact on the microelectronics packaging industry and technology.
